Sponsored and Supported by the Maryland-National Capital Building Industry Association and the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association

QUALITY IS...

?

The ability of a product and service to satisfy stated or implied needs.

?

Achieved by conforming to established requirements within an organization

The Quality Council was formed by MNCBIA and NVBIA in 2004 under the leadership of MNCBIA 2003 President Peter Byrnes and NVBIA 2004 President Steven Alloy to disseminate information on quality management principles and practices in the homebuilding industry.   The Council focus is on both "Trade Contractor Quality" and "Builder Quality"  and how to develop a Regional Quality program that makes sense for customer satisfaction, improved working relationships between buiders and contractors, and a positive bottom line.

In addition to presenting Quality Roundtable programs, both MNCBIA and NVBIA offer education seminars and programs on customer service and NAHB designation programs for builders, sales and marketing professionals and trade contractors.  An important focus of the Regional Quality Council is helping builders raise the bar on quality assurance and customer satisfaction scores.  MNCBIA Members please click here to access Job Ready and Job Complete Forms.

One way to assist builders and trades is to standardize "Job Ready" and "Job Complete" Forms so that both sides' expectations are met.  Please download these Quality Council forms, available only to association members. As more are available they will be added to this website.  We are also in the process of translating these forms into Spanish.

Builders and trade contractors are also invited to Sign The Pledge, showing their commitment to quality construction.  Click here to download the Pledge Form

Congratulations to the following companies that have taken the MNCBIA/NVBIA Regional Quality Council Pledge.  These companies are committed to quality construction and customer satisfaction, to meeting customer expectations the first time, every time and to follow the 4 Point Program:

  1. The development of a Phase Specification Program to ensure their company’s job requirements are clearly defined
  2. The development of a Pre and Post Inspection Program to ensure 100% phase completion
  3.  The development of a Hot Spot Program to ensure continuous quality improvement
  4. The development of a Quality Manual to ensure internal practices are defined to track and manage quality

We salute these companies for their commitment to quality and encourage all our members to sign this pledge and enhance their business
